Hotel Blue Ocean – Ponta Delgada/Azores

Como aqui nos Açores não existem arranha-céus, tomei a liberdade de construir um, na capital do arquipélago, Ponta Delgada.

Chama-se Hotel Blue Ocean, tem 191 metros e 42 andares.

As here in Azores there aren’t skyscrapers, I decided to build one, in archipelago’s capital, Ponta Delgada.

It’s called Hotel Blue Ocean, with 626 feet and 42 floors.

Green Habitation – Brutalism style

Numa das minhas leituras sobre estilos de arquitetura, encontrei um que achei fascinante, misterioso e ao mesmo tempo, digamos, literalmente “feio”. Depois de ter visto o Habitation 67, tentei fazer algo parecido. E aqui está, o Green Habitation, com 28 andares e 98 metros.

During some of my architecture’s styles research, I found one I thought quite fascinating, mysterious and at the same time, let’s say, “ugly”.

After having seen Habitation 67, I tried to make something alike. And here is it, the Green Habitation, 28 floors and 321 feet.

Museum of Modern Art

Com inspiração na Casa da Música do Porto (Portugal), fiz o seguinte Museu de Arte Moderna.

With inspiration in Casa da Música do Porto (House of Music, literally translated), I’ve done the following Museum of Modern Art.

Abu Dhabi Panoramic Tower

Idéia original: um edificio com hoteis, apartamentos e escritórios com um bocado de inspiração em arquitetura árabe.

O resultado foi esta torre com 375 metros e 86 andares.

Altura da antena: 72 metros

Original idea: a building with hotels, apartments and offices with a bit of inspiration on arabian’s architecture.

The final result was this 1230ft and 86 floors tower.

Spire height: 235 feet

New Madrid Tower – NMT

Ideia original: um conjunto de andares em vez de ser uma “caixa”, porque não dividir ao meio e a outra metade ficaria com jardins, piscinas ou “terraço?”. Para ligar os dois blocos, inseri uma coluna/cilindro que dá acesso a todos os blocos de andares e o seu “pequeno quintal”.

E foi a este resultado que cheguei.

Original idea: a block of floors, that instead of being just a “box”, why not to divide it in half and the other half would have gardens, pools or “terrace”?. To connect the two blocks, I’ve made a column/cylinder that gives acces either to a block of floors or its “small garden”.

And this was the final result:

With 950 feet and 62 floors, the Gold Business Center.

Com 290 metros e 62 andares, o Gold Business Center.

Horizon Center of Business

Com 145 metros e 28 andares, é a nova sede da companhia de seguros Horizon.

With 475 feet and 28 floors, it’s insurance Horizon company new headquarter.

White Trade Center

Com 225 metros, 62 andares e uma composição invulgar, senhoras e senhores, o White Trade Center.

Having a height of 740 feet, 62 floors and an curious composition, ladies and gentlemen, the White Trade Center.
